Woodsman before Woodsy
One of the earlier drawings of the woodsman. He’s quite a bit more strapping here than he would eventually end up. As he started to actually fit into the story it became clear that there was no real place for so much swagger.

Woodsy V. Lobster
The woodsman and the lobsters! I think this was foremost in my mind once both of these characters came into being. I like the clash between folklore and sci-fi, magic and technology, wildness and structure. Also, I like drawing robots and I like drawing lumberjacks, so…. there is that, as well.
